Christmas On Net >> Christmas Crafts >> Christmas Craft Projects

Christmas is the celebration of the birth of God's chosen one (Christ) who was send to the world to put an end to people's misery. Crafts are the easiest way to give vent to one's creativity. People are engaged in making crafts of their choice since the ancient days. Special occasions like, birthdays, mother's day, father's day, Easter, Christmas has always inspired people for trying their hands in loads of different types of crafts. Christmas craft projects make quality use of the leisure one get during Christmas holidays.

People have a common illusion that Christmas craft projects are meant only for children. But truth is anybody can indulge in the leisure of making crafts as it is a nice way to unwind. Grown ups are not only destined to ponder over the future of their children and fixing the software problems in their office or the sales related problems of their farm. They deserve some quality time with their family. In fact a child wants some time to spend with parents. There is no better way of spending time with them other than helping them in their Christmas craft projects. Christmasonnet has a list of a few Christmas craft projects that will help both children and grown-ups explore their creative side.

Paper Bag Christmas craft projects:
Materials: Paper bags (brown), craft sponges or stamps, inked stamp pads, red and green paints, festive roping, glue and stapler.

Method: The paper bags are laid out. Pencil lines are drawn on the paper bag. Stamps are colored with inked pads. Sponges can also be used for painting. Coloring with sponges need a bit of care to be taken. It is better to stamp them on newspaper a few times in order to get rid of excessive paint, before it is used on the paper bag. Unique types of patterns can be created by stamping or sponging. The bag needs to be dried properly before being used. The ends of the festive roping can be either glued or stapled.

Bird Nest Christmas Craft Projects:
Materials: A bird nest of 1 to 4", a tree branch (of 6" to 8"), 6 small cotton balls or 3 large cotton balls, 1 small novelty bird, small sprigs, small pine cones, white spray paint; glue gun, glue sticks, 5 to 6 holly berry berries, ½" wide ribbon.

Method: Pine cones are painted white with spray paint. It is dried properly. Tree branches are glued across center top of nest. The nest is then filled with cotton balls. These cotton balls are secured by a touching of glue. The bird is then glued to the branch. Pine cones, evergreens and holly berries are glued to the nest.

Pin Cushion Christmas craft projects:
Materials: 2 quart size Mason Jar lids, Green felt of the size 5" x 10", 20" gold braid, gold ring of 1" diameter, ½" thick foam rubber of 4" x 8", a dozen of golden pine cones,12 holly berries, masking tape, glue.

Method: 2 to 3 ½" square pieces are cut from the green felt and two 2 ½" round pieces are cut from the foam rubber. The sponge rubber is placed on the felt piece. The foam is placed exactly on the hole of the jar lid. Now it is pressed firmly to put it into place. Maximum pressure must be at the center in order to make the felt go beyond the edge a little. The action is repeated in the case of the second jar lid. Excess or felt is folded inside. The two inside edges of the lid are pressed together. Masking tape holds it firmly over the ridge where the two lids meet. A 1 by 10 inches piece of green felt is cut. Then it is glued over the masking tape. Glue is smeared on the edges of the green felt. A single loop of gold braid is put into it. Wires are cut from miniature pine cones and holly berries and glued over the seams in a cluster. The gold ring is glued to the opposite side. This pin cushion Christmas craft makes the best use of one's productive thought and a holiday.

Hopefully Christmasonnet has been able to inform people searching for right kind of Christmas craft projects to get rejuvenated before they are back to work.
